A Deserted Place

This novel spans the years 1965 to 1995, covering Ronald Glenn's maturation. He is attracted to the worlds of modern art and modern religion. The novel consists of alternating sections which detail the narrator's involvement in a struggle over a combination bookstore-coffee house for the artistic community and his upbringing in a liberal Protestant household.
