Cefpodoxime proxetil is an advanced-generation, broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic. Cefpodoxime proxetil has slightly bitter taste and has poor water solubility. So in case of acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis (AECB) groupA beta-hemolytic streptococcal pharyngotonsillitis, and uncomplicated skin/skin structure infections it require immediate release of drug from the dosage form, which make Cefpodoxime Proxetil suitable candidate for dispersible tablets.
