Earlier mechanism have develops various concept of segmentation limited to single rings or have complex folding or deploying mechanism. This work focus on design and deployment of segmentation mechanism for multiple rings. Therefore, that large mirror can be segmented to smaller size into multiple rings. The main challenges in design and development of multiple ring-segmented structures in the complexity of mechanism involved.

Foldable and deployable mechanisms are proposed as viable solution for future high definition or resolution space telescope. Various types of folding strategies are discussed, developed and demonstrated. All mechanisms are aimed at folding the primary mirror or reflector before the launch and accommodate the mechanism into the fairing diameter.
