On the Design of High Performance Data Center Networks

This book provides a comprehensive survey on the important role network has to play in the cloud computing ecosystem, as well as an in-depth study on the fundamental design principles and infrastructures for current and future generation data center networks. In particular, it puts a special focus on how to effectively support cloud computing applications that rely on group communication by incorporating multicast capability into data center networks. The information and explanations it provides are not found in the industry standards, and can broaden the understanding of data center network designers and researchers.
