Let's Design A House On Mars: An Interactive Architecture Activity Book For Kids

HELP WANTED:
Architect Adventurer Albert B. Squid needs your help to design a house ON MARS for THE SPACE AGENCY. His schedule is out of control and he needs you to help him come up with a design from scratch. If you take on the job, you will be working as Squid’s partner and together will come up with a concept from what the client's needs are, combined with the unique site location details. Under Squid’s guidance, you will draw concept sketches, a floor plan layout, elevation & cross-section drawings, perspective drawings, and finally, build an actual model with pre-sized cut-out model pieces and instructions from Squid.

ABOUT: Let’s Design A House Series
Prolific Architect Adventured, Albert B. Squid, has designed a series of interactive architect role-playing books to introduce kids to conceptual design and creating a house from working with fictitious clients and their needs to learning how the site can also affect its design. Each house in the book series is in a different (real) location in the world (or Universe), which comes with real coordinates that can be found online to get a better feel for the site. Not only that but there is a section of each book in the series that gives the history and facts about the particular site that will influence the overall design. Kids will work along with the drawings as Squid guides them along the design path of creating a house from an original concept to the final house design with drawing templates and pre-sized cut-out pieces included to build a model of the design while adding their own ideas along the way.
