Design Your Website With WordPress 2023 is a hands-on guide to teach you skills that will save you big designer/developer fees. WordPress is the world’s most popular way to build websites. I will also introduce you to an amazing and popular web design tool called Elementor.

What will it cost to build your own website?

Besides the cost of this book, a domain name costs about $12 a year and you can host your website on a server for about $100-$120 a year. (I will teach you how to do both.)

What exactly will you learn?

This book teaches you how to build a pro website from scratch - specifically, a functional website for a career coach. I believe the best way to learn site building is to create one for a specific use case. Rest assured, you don’t have to be a career coach to reap the benefits of the book! It is meant for any small business, solopreneur, blogger or professional.

You will learn to build a 5-page website with the following pages:

• A content-rich Home page
• An About page with text and images
• A Contact page so people can reach you
• A Services or Products page that displays your business offerings, both in text and supporting images
• A blog page (optional) - if you want one for your website

With this knowledge, you can build for yourself (with confidence!) any number of extra pages you want. Like a Testimonials page, a Page for each of your services or products, a Team page, a Projects page to showcase your work, etc.

What should you already know?

No prior technical knowledge is needed. There are lots of moving parts to building a site, though each one is easy in itself. Take it in tiny bits and it will all fall into place. WordPress was created for non-coders. It’s drag-and-drop all the way! And Elementor was created for non-designers. So, don’t worry if you are not a web designer. You will need a desktop or laptop, though. PC or Mac is fine. You can’t learn this stuff on a phone.

Among the things you will master from the book

• Buy domain name and hosting for your business
• Install WordPress at your host
• Learn about Elementor plugin (free version) and its design capability
