About the Author

Devdas Shetty, Ph.D.,P.E. is a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Hartford In Connecticut. He holds the Vernon D. Roosa Professorship of Manufacturing Engineering and is the Associate Dean of the College of Engineering. In addition, he is the Director of the Engineering applications Center, which works with industries and undertakes funded industrial research. Shetty has published and presented more than 130 papers in scientific journals and at conferences.
