Designing Man (Paperback or Softback)

ABOUT THE BOOK

Designing Man: From Housing to Haute Couture is not just a fashion story. It's a blueprint for building identity when the odds are stacked against you.

Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, Tamil Robinson didn't inherit connections, capital, or corporate backing. What he had was vision - and the discipline to sharpen it. From airbrushed tees and local corridors to national trade shows, television placements, factory floors in Europe, and the global supply chain, Tamil built TCA (Tamil's Creative Artwear) from the ground up.

This memoir moves beyond clothing. It explores:

• What it means to build credibility in the inner city
• The difference between hustle and strategy
• The discipline behind design
• The cost of ambition where survival is real
• And how culture, when understood correctly, becomes momentum

Through setbacks, street realities, buyer rooms, warehouse grind, and international production, Designing Man reveals the transformation from raw talent to structured brand.

This is a story about more than fashion.

It's about becoming.

It's about learning that design is not just how something looks -

it's how it's built, how it moves, and how it lasts.

And ultimately, it's about what it costs to become a Designing Man.
