Dr. Fleck is the president of Fleck’s Rx, a consulting firm that advises elite athletes, coaches, and fitness enthusiasts on training programs. At home in Colorado Springs, Colorado, he enjoys weight training, rock climbing, hiking, and Alpine skiing.
William J. Kraemer earned a PhD in physiology from the University of Wyoming in 1984. He holds multiple appointments at the Pennsylvania State University, where he is professor of applied physiology, director of research in the Center for Sports Medicine, associate director of the Center for Cell Research, and faculty member in the kinesiology department and the Noll Physiological Research Center. He is also editor-in-chief of the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research.
The former head of the Exercise Biochemistry Laboratory at the U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine, Dr. Kraemer is also a past president, vice president, and committee chair of the NSCA. This association honored him in 1992 as its Sport Scientist of the Year and in 1994 gave him its highest award, the Lifetime Achievement Award, making him at that time the second person ever to earn the honor. He is a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and a member of both the American Physiological Society and the Endocrine Society. For recreation he enjoys painting, fishing, weight training, and running.
