A Detective's Unexpected Case

A routine case? That's what unconventional Munich private detective Alexander Baron of Tannenberg thinks when the showman Anghy contacts him about a threatening letter targeting his Oktoberfest roller coaster, the "Kobra." Bored by the banality, Alexander is about to turn the case down—until Anghy turns up dead hours later, an alleged accident or suicide on his own ride.
But Alexander's instinct screams murder. Teaming up with his sharp-witted and flamboyant friend, Murat Özdemir—owner of an exclusive barbershop that doubles as an information hub—he dives into the dazzling yet treacherous world of the Oktoberfest. The investigation leads them behind the glittering facade of Bavarian cheer, where they encounter a web of fear, cover-ups, and political entanglements.
The trail of a sophisticated crime and the victim's dark past pulls Alexander deeper into a swamp that extends far beyond Munich's borders—all the way to the small Hungarian town of Esztergom. There, he unearths decades-old secrets and unatoned-for deeds that cast the case in a new, disturbing light, blurring the lines between victim and perpetrator.
Alexander von Tannenberg faces one of his greatest challenges: Can he bring the truth behind Anghy's death to light when powerful forces are trying to stop him by any means necessary, and the abysses that open up are deeper and more complex than he ever could have imagined? A race against time and a struggle for justice in a case that will push him to his own limits.
