Detour

Escape from the hassle of day-to-day reality into a world of fantasy. DETOUR, a compilation of short stories created by Rick Pascal, lets you take an imaginative voyage journeying into the unknown, and often, surreal world; one replete with surprising twists, unexpected turns, and unpredicted outcomes. Using irony, a touch of the supernatural, science fiction, and an approach often similar to The Twilight Zone, E.A. Poe and O. Henry, Rick’s bizarre and eerie stories are a passageway to that escape. His characters display a range of emotions that most of us have experienced or are familiar with; fear, excitement, confusion, love, greed, fanaticism, trust and betrayal…with a hint of humor in the mix. DETOUR offers reading pleasure for everyone.

Following his earlier career in Engineering, Rick Pascal began to pursue his other creative talents in the performing arts: Theater and Film. This led him further into playwrighting and short stories. Rick and his wife, Maxine, also an actress and ESL teacher, reside in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.
