The book explores some of the practical issues that underline collection development, especially in developing countries by undertaking a case study of Chancellor College, a constituent college of the University of Malawi. Both of these have a direct effect on quality of collections hence goes a long way in determining their suitability to the needs of users. The book also discusses the other factors militating against collection development activities, and ends by offering possible solutions to the problems identified.

About the Author

Aubrey Harvey Chaputula obtained a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from University of Botswana in 2009. He has worked as Readers Services Librarian for Mzuzu University Library since January 2007. Previously he worked as Acquisitions Librarian for Mzuzu University from March 2005 to January 2007.
