In Industrial drying operations the moisture is removed from a solid, semi-solid or liquid material by using heat. Heat is supplied to the material by the process of conduction, convection and radiation. A small portion of volatile liquid and carrier gas is evaporated by this heat. This evaporated portion passes through the feed material and removes vapor from the medium. Most frequently, drying of material is done by the removal of water into a hot air stream.
