Understand how the Binet-Simon scale transformed how we measure a child’s thinking and problem solving.
This book offers a complete history and clear explanation of the Measuring Scale for Intelligence as Binet and Simon developed it. Translated by Elizabeth S. Kite, it presents the scale in context—from its origins and standardization to its first major applications in schools and clinics. With thoughtful commentary, the editors show how the scale grew in use around the world and why it matters for assessing intellect in children.
- Learn how the scale originated and why it was created
- See how the tests were standardized and applied
- Explore how the scale influenced diagnosis and education for different levels of ability
- Read about practical considerations for using the tests with real children
