The Development of Theme Hotels in China: Hotel Environment and Customer Expectations

Theme Hotel is based on a particular theme to reflect the hotel’s architectural and decorative arts along with the specific cultural atmosphere, to let customers obtain the unique cultural experience. After Chinese economic reform, the hotel market in China has gradually mature. Therefore, Hotel industry competition has become increasingly fierce. Customers’ eager to try new things and to experience diverse culture or life style.Theme hotel gives customers memorable and valuable experience, is a key to business success. This research beginning with an overview of theme hotel then discusses types and characteristics of theme hotel in order to find out which type of theme hotel in China is easy to success. This study explains about the status and find out the current problems that have hindered the success of China's theme hotel development in order to identify the future development trend, vision, seizing the good opportunity of development with the ultimate goal of building a world-famous theme hotel industry in China.
