About the Author

Hilary Beckles is Professor of History at the University of the West Indies, director of the Centre for Cricket Research at the Cave Hill campus in Barbados, and has recently been appointed Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies. He has written extensively on history and cricket.
