The Devil Knows

The moors don't just hold the dead. They keep the secrets of the living.

For decades, the name of the couple who turned the moors into a tomb has haunted every doorway in the valley. The nightmare of Brady and Hindley was supposed to be a closed chapter, a tragedy etched into history and left to rot under the heather.

But the earth is not a fortress.

As the peat shifts, it reveals what was never meant to be uncovered - a small, intimate, and agonizingly preserved piece of a life that was stolen. It is not a crime scene for a detective to solve, but a final, shattering confrontation for those who have spent a lifetime trying to look away.

The silence that has protected this valley for sixty years is about to shatter. The past is no longer content to stay buried. It is rising to the surface, and it is demanding a reckoning that no one is prepared to survive.

Some secrets are buried. Some are just waiting.

David J Cooper is a storyteller drawn to the shadows - where history and the supernatural intertwine, and whispers of the past refuse to be silenced. With a passion for unraveling eerie mysteries, he crafts tales that blur the line between the seen and the unseen, leading readers into forgotten mansions, haunted villages, and the minds of those who dare to uncover the truth. When not writing, he can be found wandering through old cemeteries, collecting strange folklore, or listening for echoes of stories yet to be told.
