Illustrated with a total of 13 (unsigned) engravings (many are of detailed interior or exterior architectural scenes, with costumed figures, etc.); location of the engravings: [1] Frontispiece: The Devil upon Two Sticks; [2] p. 12; [3] p. 59; [4] p. 74; [5] p. 108; [6] p. 141; [7] p. 143; [8] p. 155; [9] p. 193; [10] p. 234; [11] p. 235; [12] p. 255; [13] p. 288. Later polished calf spine, sides and corner-pieces, with red morocco title label on the spine; raised bands with floral designs in compartments, and marbled paper over boards and matching marbled endpapers; all edges stained yellow. The spine ends, cover corners & edges show chipping and wear; both covers are fully detached, but present; cracking to the marbled endpapers, various degrees of brown spotting (foxing) to the title-page, to page and plate margins or surfaces, with some damp to a few fore-edge margins of the plates; age-related tanning present. With the bookplate of Cleveland, Ohio based book collector, William G. Mather (1857-1951), on the front marbled paste-down endpaper. Scarce item with the engravings. The binding requires restoration.
