This volume in the Trail series documents the history of the Trace--a trail that Mississippi flatboat crews created as a return route from Natchez through Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee to Nashville. Great men traveled this route including Aaron Burr, Andrew Jackson, and Meriwether Lewis who mysteriously died on the Trace.
