Devil's Laughter

The Devil laughs when you make plans.
Having witnessed a terrifying murder as a child, Zet escapes in dreams, planning for herself the perfect life, far away from London's East End, far from the mother she has never got on with and the father who let her down.
Marriage to a successful businessman and living in a smart part of Essex is her dream come true.
Even better, her husband is promoted, and though it means moving with their two children to a Yorkshire cottage with a dark past and a haunted garden, Zet happily prepares for a life that she knows is going to be perfect. Or is it? There is the wild beauty of the peat-scented moors, unexpectedly sweeping cool, calculating Zet with passion and emotions she has never before experienced.
There is the decision impossible to make.
There is heartbreak - never part of her plan.
There is violence once again in her life.
And in her pre-written life story, the ink begins to run.
