The Devil's Snare

P.I. EDDIE FLYNN, AVOIDS THE LIMELIGHT LIKE THE PLAGUE, NOW HE'S FRONT PAGE NEWS.

Baby-killers or victims? They've hired Flynn to prove their innocence.
But why are they lying to him?

ARE THEY VICTIMS OR CRIMINALS?

Grieving parents or child-killers covering their guilt with a cynical campaign to "find" their missing daughter? The police have the answer. The public has the answer. And the tabloids are hot in pursuit of the evidence that will expose the "Killer Couple's" phoney campaign and put them behind bars where they belong.

But what if everyone's wrong? What if Stuart and Elaine Barber are innocent, suffering any parent's worst nightmare without sympathy or help from the outside world? And what if a dangerous vigilante succeeds in "avenging" their lost daughter his own way before they've cleared their name?

Enter PI Eddie Flynn, an ex-Metropolitan Police detective who never reads the tabloids, shuns limelight, despairs over a world addicted to media sensation. When the Barbers turned up for help he should have shown them the door. He doesn't perform in circus rings. But what if the Barbers' child is alive? Shouldn't someone be out there looking?

Call it a lapse of judgement. Flynn signs up for the Barbers' no-expense spared gig. His mission: keep them safe and find their child. If anyone can do that it's a tough ex murder detective who specialises in solutions.

So now Flynn's been sucked into the biggest media circus of the decade and suddenly he's one of the bad guys drawing the flak. That's no problem for Flynn. He just hunkers down and concentrates on the detective work. No problem at all - until the evidence begins to show that his clients are hiding something...
