In a world driven by uncertainty, unhappiness and strife, COVID-19 is a sharp warning to humanity to introspect and heal. At a time when values are on the decline and humankind sees no empathy, there is a dire need to reform and reconnect. This is where a comprehensive concept of dharma steps in, to help humanity find its true essence.
In this book, ‘Dharma by Design : A Universe in Harmony,’ the author simplifies the steps to dharma, offering us comprehensive methods to adapt and adopt, to clean and simplify our lives. Dharma is not a synonym for religion, in fact, beyond it, and can be universally applied if people the world over follow its practices.
Four simple steps, four ways of living, are what the author offers, the dharmic tenets drawn from her own learnings and experiences. This book is for each of us who have been striving to discover our rich and spiritual inner selves, so that we may best enjoy and experience the journey of our lives.
I hail from an academic and extremely spiritual family in which the accent on learning was one hundred percent and social interactions outside of family minimal. My interest developed both in creative arts and academics simultaneously. Working from home gives you the flexibility to divide your time among all your activities and that is exactly what I did. It was studies, music, dance and lending a helping hand at home all the way.
The immature mind lacks in long term vision. I had my share of resentments for not having enough play time, which, I realize today, would have taken me away from so much learning. Post marriage and a change of city from Bombay to Chennai was a continuation of learning. But, never having known what it was to smell the coffee, I joined many organizations, headed a few, gained in social exposure, resumed vocal music and recordings, participated in dance shows . I had a full life, enriched by my three daughters.
Later,I started writing short articles on my facebook page and on my blog and speakingtree. A sudden spurt of spiritual awareness and growth within me happened with my practice as a Counsellor and Regressionist. Suddenly, all the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle connected. And, here I am , with my first labor of love, my book "Dharma by design: A Universe in harmony".
I have been a student all my life and my motivation lies in the quote," the more you know, the more there is to know". The key to all spiritual knowledge is in "know thyself", a vital pointer to the self where all perceived fragmentation in and of the world culminates into the power of ONE.
I have a social media presence on facebook, instagram, you tube , Pinterest and Linkedin.
My book has gained a wide acceptance among readers who are seekers or becoming seekers besides others who have surprised me with favorable reports.
Thank you , Amazon , and all the readers. I am hoping to publish my second book , God willing. My best wishes always,
Surekha Kothari
