About the Author
A. Anu Swedha, Senior Lecturer, PG Department of Applied Microbiology, JBAS College for Women, Chennai, has five years of teaching and research experience in microbiology. She completed her Master's degree in Medical Microbiology (Faculty of Medicine) from Dr. ALM Postgraduate Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Madras. She has participated and presented papers in a number of national and international conferences. Dr. S. Ananthan, recipient of the prestigious Dr. B. C. Roy National Award (Hari Ohm Ashram Alembic Research Award) from Medical Council of India (2005), has four decades of academic and research experience in Medical Microbiology. Formerly Professor of Medical Microbiology, Dr. ALM Postgraduate Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Madras, he has worked in various capacities in the Department of Medical Education, Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine and Continuing Medical Education Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu and has served as Principal of Dr. ALM College, Chennai. He is also recipient of the Jewel of India Award, Best Educationalist Award, Lifetime Achievement Award in Applied Microbiology, Eminent Citizen of India Award and Mr. V. V. Swaminathan Diamond Jubilee Research Endowment Award.
