The Diamond Cache (a Brian Bianco novel)

Robert Testa has crafted a masterful mystery, the tenth in his Brian Bianco series. Upon returning to Switzerland from South Africa, Jacob Brandice, a wholesale dealer of uncut diamonds, learns that he, his wife Harriet, and their child Fianela (Fanny), age ten, are being sought by the Gestapo and will be imprisoned. In a panic, the parents quickly arrange to have Fanny, as a precaution, adopted by Juan and Eva Ramira, their close friends from the Dominican Republic, whose daughter Consuela is also age ten. Jacob and Harriet quickly leave Switzerland, assume new identities, and relocate frequently in many of the major cities in South America to avert capture. Nearly twenty years later, Fanny, now a mature young woman, seeks help from her best friend and mentor, Brian Bianco, to find her missing parents so that she can reunite her estranged family. Bianco learns that Fanny’s stalker is a Neo-Nazi who assumes that Fanny will lead him to her parents and the millions in uncut diamonds Jacob garners regularly in South Africa’s diamond mines.
