This book of color photographs charts the transformation of Diana Spencer from the shy teenager of 1981 ("Lady Di") to the self-composed mother of two of 1987 ("Princess Di"). There are cozy snaps of Diana with Charles, with sons William and Henry; records of her travels in Bangkok, Brisbane and Belfast, of her rubbing noses (literally) with New Zealanders and reviewing troops in Newfoundland; pictures of her wearing jeans, gowns and maternity frocks; shots of her at polo matchessome 100 portraits in all. In a short essay, Graham ( In PersonThe Prince and Princess of Wales ) tells of his professional introduction to the princess and of high-points in their seven-year relationship; although not an "official" court photographer, he has taken "official" photographs of members of the royal family. His assemblage here, however, of so many likenesses of the princess will probably strike even passionate Di-watchers as a bit much.
