Masud Khan (1924-1989) was an eminent and, ultimately, scandalous Indian-born, British psychoanalyst. From August 1967 to March 1980, he wrote his Work Books, a diary in thirty-nine volumes, containing observations and reflections on his own life, the world of psychoanalysis, his evolving theoretical formulations, Western culture, and the turbulent social and political developments of the time.

About the Authors

Linda Hopkins, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst. She works in private practice in Washington DC and is member teaching faculty at IIPT and IPI (International Psychotherapy Institute). She is author of False Self: The Life of Masud Khan.

Steven Kuchuck, LCSW is a faculty member, supervisor, Board member, and co-director of curriculum for the adult training program in psychoanalysis at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies and faculty, Stephen Mitchell Center for Relational Studies. He is Editor-in-Chief of Psychoanalytic Perspectives. scholars. His scientific work centres on the psychoanalytic approach to severe psychic disorders in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine and on the subjective body experience (body image).
