A serviceable set of five copies in Imperial octavo hardcover format, measuring 9 1/2" tall x 6" wide, respectively. Sturdy, if unlovely copies, given the tattered, chipped and rubbed printed dust wrappers, some being also price-clipped. The books themselves are in easily Good condition and stand upright easily on the shelf. Bound in black cloth over boards, sharp and distinct lettering to spines. Slight forward cocks to a couple of spines, slight smudging to some bottom tips. Some dings and imperfections here and there, e.g., damp-staining to spine of the fifth volume, with bleed-through to interior of dust jacket bottom. Else clean, tightly bound and unmarked of interior, quite bright, with notes, bibliographies and and indexes. Edited by Anne Olivier Bell, being assisted by Andrew McNeillie, and with Introductions by Quentin Bell. The set comprises Volume One, 1915-1919 (1977, First American Edition, First Printing, "B" in "number" line, xxviii [1], 3-356 pp.); Volume Two, 1920-1924 (1978, First American Edition, First Printing, "B" in "number" line, xii [2], 3-371 pp.); Volume Three, 1925-1930 (1980, First American Edition, First Printing, "B" in "number" line, xiii [1], 3-384 pp.); Volume Four, 1931-1935 (1982, First American Edition, First Printing, "B" in "number" line, xiii [2], 3-402 pp.); Volume Five, 1936-1941 (1984, First American Edition, First Printing, "B" in "number" line, xiv [2], 3-402 pp.).
