About the Author

Born in Akron and a graduate of Green High School in southern Summit County, Dick Goddard received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Kent State University in 1960, following his discharge from the Air Force. While at KSU Dick worked for 5 years with the U.S. Weather Bureau broadcasting on-air weather reports. He became the on-air meteorologist at KYW-TV 3 (now WKYC) in Cleveland in 1961.

Dick has served as the chief meteorologist at WJW TV 8 since 1966, and forecasts the weather Monday through Friday on the 5, 6 and 10 o' clock editions of FOX 8 News. National surveys by Herb Altman Research have twice named Goddard as the most popular local television weatherperson in America.

Dick lives with his wife, Amber, in Medina.
