Volumes 1-6 cover A through Z and "supplement", volume 7 has an index and the 2nd supplement. Uniformly bound in red cloth, lettered in gilt, top edges gilt, others uncut. From the Reference Department of the Walsall Public Library, its bookplate in each volume (Walsall is about 10 miles northwest of Birmingham, England), along with 3 numbers on each spine, a stamp on the title pages and the bottom edges. Very little wear, the fore-edges lightly foxed, the text clean and white. Heavy volumes, all soundly bound, each 7 x 10 1/2 inches and averaging about 425 pages. The set weighs almost 25 pounds and will require extra postage.
