A pleasing copy of this fascinating dictionary of British Watercolour Artists, containing an alphabetical list of some six to seven thousand artists, with an accompanying volume illustrating the work of over six hundred artists. This work was written and collated by Huon Mallalileu, the renowned freelance writer on art, antiques and history. Volume I provides an extensive bibliography for each artist, with discussions regarding stylistic influences and developments, bibliographical information, and further research on the subject. Volume II contains a wide selection of illustrations with additional information about the artist, his style, influences, and technical strengths and weaknesses. Each volume is complete with the original price-clipped dustwrapper. Volume I is a second edition reprint copy published in 1988, whilst volume II is a first edition copy published in 1979. In the publisher's original cloth binding with gilt title to boards and spines, and original price-clipped dustwrapper.
