Hardcover, no dust jacket. Boards show normal wear in light of age. Most of the pages are uncut, the early part of volume one has been cut, through page 154 and ll of voume 4. Each volume is shaken to varying degrees at the front hinge. The front outer hinge is exposed to varying degrees on volumes two and three. Volume four outer hinge is exposed almost completely. Paper is yellowed but in good condition. A 'chief articles' page is tipped in to the front of volumes 2 and 4.The spine of volume 4 has undergone some amateur repair at the top edge. pp.
