Reprint (first published in the Indian Texts Series, 1938), Two Volume set. Two octavo volumes (23cm); green cloth-covered boards with titling stamped in gilt on spines; [xx],1163,[1]pp; [xii],1370,[1]pp. This set is from the library of noted poet, translator, and anthropologist Nathaniel Tarn (1928-2024), with his bookplates to front pastedowns, his pictorial ownership stamps to front endpapers (with corresponding off-setting to pastedowns), and his pencilled marginal notes throughout both volumes. Volume I has modest shelf-wear and -soil, with light rubbing to board edges; Very Good. Volume II spine head slightly convexed, with modest shelf-wear and -soil, light rubbing to board edges, and cosmetically cracked to rear hinge (with linen beginning to show); Good. Reprint volume published for the Pali Text Soxiety, explores names of Pal?, including villages, rivers, and individuals' job responsibilites. [87743].
