Modern psychology has a variety of professional interests; no one person can keep up with the terminology used in its many sub-fields. Whenever I am in doubt as to the meaning of a word or phrase, I immediately reach for Wolman's Dictionary. It's my first choice for quick enlightenment.

I'm delighted to have it [the Dictionary] for my personal professional library. It is excellent--extensive in its breadth of coverage, crisp and clear in its individual entries. Based on my own knowledge of certain areas in psychology, I find the individual entries very well done, indeed. Especially helpful are the biographical entries, that include living scholars. This directory should be a valuable desk-top tool for both students and scholars alike.
