Ces produc tions sont g�n�ralement �puisantes, parce qu'elles s'em parent d'une partie de la s�ve destin�e � la nourriture de la plante qui les porte on doit donc les extirper aussit�t qu'elles paraissent, � moins qu'on ne veuille en faire de nouveaux sujets, et encore ne doit - on employer ce moyen de pr0pa gatien qu'avec prudence, parce que les arbres provenus de drageons, n'ayant jamais de racines pivotantes, sont plus su jets � drageonner que les autres. Les terrains frais et l�gers sont plus susceptibles de fournir des drageons que les terres fortes, parce que les bourgeons ont plus de facilit� � les percer et � s'y d�velopper. C'est ce motif qui fait pr�f�rer oes terrains pour l'�tablissement des p�pini�res. La pr�sence des drageons d�c�le aussi quelquefois un �tat de maladie, parce que la s�ve, n'ayant pas la force de s'�lever jusqu'aux branches, est forc�e de s'arr�ter dans son cours. Les arbres qu'on a �branch�s ou greff�s poussent, par ce seul motif, plus qu'auparavant. Les arbres � fruits surtout pr�sentent l'avantage d'une multiplication plus,_prompte par les dra geons, et dispensent de l'op�ration de la greffe; mais les ar bres qui eu proviennentdurent moins longtemps et drageon nent plus facilement, comme nous l'avons dit plus haut. Quant � leur enl�vement, il demande certaines pr�cautions que le p�pini�riste ne doit pas n�gliger. Il faut leur conserver le plus de racines possible, sans cependant trop d�garnir celles sur lesquelles ils sont implant�s.
