Diels-Alder Reaction : Selected Practical Methods

This is the first book to collect together 70 years worth of experimental procedures that have been developed to perfom the Diels-Alder reaction. It begins with the fundamental principles and contains numerous graphical abstracts to present the basic concepts in a concise and pictorial way. Covering the theory and synthetic applications of the experimental methods it describes the procedures and techniques and includes reports on industrial applications.
* Illustrates the fundamental principles and summarises experimental methods used to carry out the Diels-Alder reaction
* Contains physical and catalytic methods to enhance the selectivity of the Diels-Alder reaction
* Includes procedures for cycloaddition accomplished in conventional and unconventional media
* Outlines the practical procedures
* Focuses on clean syntheses and green chemistry
* Provides a single source for relevant information and includes over 1,000 references
The Diels-Alder reaction mechanism was first published in 1928 and in the last 70 years has become the most commonly used and studied mechanism in organic chemistry.
