No Difference To Charlie

Charlie is excited for his big trip, until he hears an upsetting news story. Suddenly, Charlie starts to worry if it's safe to be himself out in the world. But along the way, Charlie keeps encountering one simple thing and is surprised to learn that differences aren't always what they seem.

No Difference to Charlie is the first of Charlie's Friendly Adventures, stories inspired by Charlie, a real-life, curly-haired dog who was a friend to all. Through kindness and courage, Charlie helps children explore big feelings and small acts of bravery, reminding children that being friendly-and being themselves-is their greatest strength.

Regia Sargent lived a life full of adventure-as an actress, a writer, a marine mammal volunteer, and a teacher-before creating the Charlie's Friendly Adventures series, a collection of stories inspired by her very real, very friendly dog, Charlie. Through Charlie's eyes, Regia's stories show the importance of kindness, courage, and acceptance. She hoped children everywhere might see a little of themselves in Charlie-and feel braver because of it. Carella Herberger enjoys making all kinds of art-painting, writing stories, sewing-but illustrating her sister's Charlie's Friendly Adventures series has been an especially meaningful project. A former newspaper reporter and editor, Carella has also taught elementary school for more than twenty-five years. But she's happiest creating in her studio-or roller skating.
