Same Difference: The Modern American Folk Tale for Our Contentious Times

The world will not be the same, but nothing will be different.

Neurodivergent middle-schooler Jimmy Jr. has a hard time making friends at his new school. When he wishes to his father, a neurodivergent television journalist, that everyone in the world was the same, a concerned Jimmy Roberts tells a cautionary bedtime story on the harmfulness of sameness and the importance of difference:

Hate and disrespect run rampant in Haterzville, Maryland and across the USA. In an effort to rid the nation of this, unorthodox President Tony Whitehouse activates ‘the Contraption,’ which causes everyone to look and think the same way… well, mostly everyone.

Resistant to the mental effects of the Contraption, Jimmy and Jr. must embark on a journey to expose and stop President Whitehouse’s plans, and encourage the nation to reject sameness and embrace their differences.
