Dig to the Death (Jake Tyler)

Jake Tyler has decided what comes next in his life, and his newest mission seems to fall right into place. After a series of grueling and gut-wrenching ops, he is more than ready for some restorative respite, ready to embrace a joy that has eluded him over his hardened years as a military operative. But, as with most things in his realm, it doesn’t happen as he expects. A life-affirming event is nearly shattered by the deadly demons from his past and puts him back on the defensive just as he is preparing to enjoy his new bliss and step up to the rewarding work of military veteran rehabilitation in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

A new life…new joy…same dangers.

Providing support for a dig in the Greek Islands with an archaeological organization benefiting challenged warriors, Jake is once again joined by his long-time brother-in-arms, Nash Remington, and his civilian friends, Eddie Falcone and Curran Niles, the project centering around the search and recovery of a Greek-American OSS squadron downed during World War II. But once the mission is underway, the discovery of a murdered scientist and what got him killed—ancient artifacts and a mind-blowingly advanced compound with the potential for modern-day military consequences—begins a turbulent spiral of events. It soon becomes clear that Jake and the group’s presence pose a threat to an oligarch on a crusade for power and vengeance, who is hellbent on taking out anything or anybody standing in his way. As ongoing surveillance escalates to deadly intent, Jake and those closest to him become targets of the oligarch’s relentless mercenaries who seem to be everywhere. Scrambling to get Callie home, even as he is unsure of the security there, Jake then finds himself facing yet another dilemma with the disappearance of Falcone and Niles, who may have gotten themselves in the most serious trouble of their lives. By the time an endgame is exposed, it may be too late to extinguish the flashpoints for war amidst a volatile conflict already brewing within the seas and beyond the shores of the sparkling blue Mediterranean.
