Digital Inclusion: Internet Accessibility for the Visually Impaired

The process of making the Internet accessible to the visually impaired is one of the most delicate forms of digital inclusion. Have you ever stopped to think about how a visually impaired person accesses and navigates the Internet? Access to digital media facilitates their development and education, allowing them to access a wide range of information available in the virtual world. Discover the recommendations and technical verification points that are essential for accessibility, exemplified in 14 experiences of digital inclusion, which clearly show the context in which this process takes place. Forms of digital exclusion are also addressed. Visually impaired people find the same things useful on the Internet as any other user, in addition to a number of other facilities, access to information, libraries, newspapers, and dictionaries from around the world, all of which are impossible (due to their large quantity) to translate in full into Braille. A journey of discovery through a new world without borders.
