Add to basketLondon. William Heinemann, 1925. Early reprint initially published in 1910. Hardcover. Brown cloth boards with gilt device to front board and titles to spine. Spine ends are softened and there is some browning to the endpapers. Generally age toned with hints of foxing. Dustjacket has some wear in the form of browning along the edges, rubbing with a little loss at spine ends and a couple of closed tears. It is now protected. Baring OBE was a dramatist, poet, novelist, translator and essayist, and also as a travel writer and war correspondent. During World War I, Baring served in the Intelligence Corps and Royal Air Force. Previously an agnostic, he converted to Roman Catholicism in 1909, This book is a collection of short dramatic scenes that take us into various moments in history and classic literature.
