16p. original staple-bound photo-montaged seld-wrappers by John Heartfield. 2 leaves of photographic illustrations printed on rectos and versos. George Dimitroff (1882 1949), was a Bulgarian communist politician who served as General Secretary of the Bulgarian Communist Party from 1946 to 1949. From 1935 to 1943, he was the General Secretary of the Communist International. He got entangled in aftermath following the fire in the German Reichstag. He refused counsel and defended himself against, primarily Herman Goering. The image on front wrapper is meant to display Dimitroff's overpowering control of his defense. He was eventually acquired and flown to Moscow. A bit dust-soiled, paperstock rather fragile with shallow loss to the top right corner of upper wrapper affecting the second "F" in 'DIMITROFF". Spine ends starting. Front edge of wrapper a little chipped. Scarce.
