Self-published artists book containing Xeroxed photographs, invitations, correspondence, programs, press, and other documentation related to the Dingerland Free Concert held July 20, 1974 and September 14, 1974 in Ratingen, Germany. The cover features a Xerox of the legal document registering Dingerland Records May 7, 1974. This book, along with the two free concerts in 1974 at the Ratingen commune, were produced by Klaus Dinger s short-lived record label Dingerland. While Michael Roth was spending time recording with Cluster and Harmonia at Forst Commune, Dinger returned to Dusseldorf to focus on his own projects, including starting the label. Dinger s friend Achim Duchow designed the label s logo, which released only one album - Lilac Angels "I m Not Afraid to Say Yes ", produced by Dinger. Includes materials related to Klaus Dinger, NEU!, Lilac Angels, La Düsseldorf, and Fritz Muller Rock , an album by Kraftwerk member Eberhard Kranemann, which was planned to be released on Dingerland, but was later released by another label in 1977 due to Dingerland s folding. Between the money spent on producing and pressing 5,000 copies of the Lilac Angels record and the funds spent starting the label, Dinger was short on cash. The free concerts did not receive much press attention and also failed to attract the monied music industry types that could have alleviated his financial troubles. Dingerland was bankrupt after releasing the single record. An extraordinarily scarce document of a pivotal time in Klaus Dinger s career, marked by a string of short-lived side projects and estrangement from band member Michael Rother, only months before they would reunite to record the third NEU! album. Extremely rare. One copy on OCLC as of October 2022. Xeroxed, perfect bound. German language. 8 ¼ x 11 ¾ in. Very good, minor wear to edges.
