Directing Life: The Hidden Power of Quickening, Gnosis, Union and Love

Directing Life offers proof of the reality of an inner transformational power that many people have always known to exist. They remember from childhood how deep within themselves they knew what it meant to be good and also knew that they could obtain anything in their life that was deeply yearned and worked for. Somehow they were sure that anything was possible.Peck, Cassinari, and Gavlick explain how the rise of controlling institutions gradually forced people to ignore this inner power and rely instead upon society’s external rules and teaching. The majority of people no longer follow the inner urgings of their hearts, but instead constantly judge themselves and others as to conformance to institutionally approved behavior or “what others might think.”Directing Life reports upon the entirely opposite but universal views that prevailed more than two millennia ago. In those days, the gods and rulers required worship to sustain them and give them their powers. In return, they used their powers to bring harmony and union to the people. With a united people, the world could evolve as the majority could be trusted to use their inner powers to do what was good for themselves and others without tight external controls.Directing Life presents the recovered universal explanation for inner powers as well as the methods found by modern individuals who are able to create and continue the evolution of the world. In essence, individuals must learn to discern instead of rely upon conditioned judgments, to become inspired instead of merely obedient, and to become more vitalized and less robotic. This book supports the ancient concepts of inner powers with modern research and knowledge of the inner forces of the body and mind. The delight in reading Directing Life is rediscovering that you can access your own inner powers to direct your life and that you are still able to find the open, developing relationships with others that you had as a child.

Robert L. Peck, a well-recognized scientist in the field of energy conversion and storage, has directed the Personal Development Center for nearly 30 years. While heading a laboratory in Industry, in his off-hours he started teaching a special form of meditation free of charge based upon his translations of ancient Sanskrit documents that he studied to explain his early childhood and later mystical experiences. In exchange for his free teachings, he required students to participate in his exploration of ancient practices that increased inner powers. He then discovered that the West, like the East, knew of the secrets of inner power, but this knowledge was also obscured by biased and misleading translations of old texts.

Leslie M. Cassinari is a special area music teacher as well as a concert flutist and yogini. She spends considerable time working to increase the interaction of music, dance and drama with children as well as adults. She taught adult classes in advanced Yoga, observing the obstacles modern students have with the ancient practices as well as the success within such areas as using the nadam to increase the depth of meditation and using inner abdominal tensioning and the breath to increase inner vitality.

Christine S. Gavlick is a special education teacher working with children with learning and emotional problems. Because of her strong background in languages and philology she is a principal in the work at the Center dealing with translation of the early Tantrik writings into modern Western technology and practice. She became interested in the how the inner vital forces could be used to manifest the deep yearnings of individuals that normally get shunted with pressure to please immediate friends and family.
