Tell me why is also a portrait - the author would say in broad brush strokes - of a decaying, ludicrous, selfish, morality-obsessed and, as we find out at the end of the book, totally insane middle class.

Over four decades, Patrick Besson has been amassing a varied and multifaceted work which has won several prestigious literary awards, including of course Dara and Les Braban. He is also a journalist and active polemicist, at times murderously witty but always full of humour and empathy. He is a regular contributor to the French weekly news magazine Le Point.
