About the Authors

Prof. Dr. Monica Juneja ist seit Januar 2009 Professorin fur Globale Kunstgeschichte am Cluster Asien und Europa. Davor war sie als Professorin am Department of History, University of Delhi, Indien, und als Gastprofessorin an den Universitaten Emory (USA), Hannover, Heidelberg, Bielefeld und Halle a. d. Saale tatig. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen auf Europastudien und Indologie und umfassen Praktiken der visuellen Reprasentation, Aspekte vergleichender und transnationaler Geschichte, religiose Konversion, geschlechterspezifische und politische Ikonographie. Prof. Dr. Gerrit Jasper Schenk ist Geschaftsfuhrender Direktor des Instituts an der TU Darmstadt und Professor fur Mittelalterliche Geschichte. Seine Interessensgebiete sind u.a. Umwelt- und Infrastrukturgeschichte, transkulturelle Geschichte, historische Katastrophenforschung, Mentalitatsgeschichte und Wahrnehmungsgeschichte. Am Exzellenzcluster 'Asia & Europe' der Universitat Heidelberg leitet er die Nachwuchsforschergruppe A6 Cultures of Disaster und gemeinsam mit Monica Juneja die Projektgruppe D 17 Images of Disaster.
