First U.S. ed., 283 p., clean though age-toned with some foxing--only marking the former owner's name on front paste down; paper strong and of fine quality, some faint staining on upper margin of the front paste down, the upper edges of back end pages and of "An Extract of the Rules of the Philological Society." Additions to the Discourse include: "The Rich Man and the Beggar," "A Dissertation on Tobacco," "The Last Illness and Death of Dr. Porson," "An Advertisement," a page in Greek, "An Address to the Philological Society." Binding firm; glossy leather boards still handsome though bumped at corners with a small scrape at upper edge of back board; gilt lettering on red patch on spine: "Clark's On The Eucharist." Some creasing along spine, but superficial.
