About this Item
24mo, 22pp., illustrated. A very good copy in the publisher's stapled mustard-hued wraps. Wraps a tinge dust-soiled, but a nice, clean copy. A curious volume, authored by the Secretary of the Mansfield Tire and Rubber Co. of Mansfield, Ohio. The slim pamphlet gives a short popular history of rubber and tire manufacturing, and discusses the future outlook for the business. It's quite promising, in its tone, as the demand for tires was growing rapidly during this period, considering the growing affordability of automobiles for middle class families. There is an engraved illusration of a Mansfield tire on the last leaf. Though a stated "second edition," we cannot locate any copies of this or any other edition of this text in worldwide libraries, or in commerce. It is not listed in the finding aids for any of the scattered holdings of Mansfield Tire and Rubber Co. materials (i.e. Cleveland State, Ohio History Connection). Scarce. Seller Inventory # 5880
