Disenos En Los Deportes (Patterns in Sports) (Disenos Divertidos! (Patterns Are Fun!)) (Spanish Edition)

This title will teach kids what patterns they can find in sports. Text and images complement each other so that readers can easily learn what patterns are and how to recognize them the next time they are watching or playing a sport. Abdo Kids Junior is an imprint of Abdo Kids, a division of ABDO. Translated by native Spanish speakers--and immersion school educators.

PreS-Gr 1-Children will love exploring visual patterns in places they visit and things they do every day: playing sports, going to school, visiting the zoo and the park, walking in the city, and more. Bright, modern, and colorful full-page photographs of textured patterns highlight spatial and mathematical relationships between recognizable objects, encouraging counting and color-naming skills. Plenty of white space around the words helps beginning readers identify letters and sounds, while action-based vocabulary terms are in bold to increase word retention. Translations are of high quality, and words and pictures correspond seamlessly. VERDICT Readers will love relating their favorite everyday objects and experiences to the patterns in these interactive and visually captivating books.α(c) Copyright 2011.
