Baby-Toddler—In this bright Disney Baby board book that introduces readers to St. Patrick's Day, Peter Pan plays a jig on his pan flute as Daisy Duck and Minnie Mouse don traditional Irish step dancing costumes. The text starts: "It's March 17th! Hip hip hooray! Time to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!" From there, various Disney characters appear with shamrocks and a pot of gold. The colored text on each page lends itself well to helping youngsters hone pre-literacy skills. However, the book relies heavily on tropes associated with the Emerald Isle, such as leprechauns and shamrocks, rather than presenting an accurate and authentic representation of the holiday.
