To understand fully any derangement in the proper performance of the functions of the uterus it is essential to have clearly mapped out in our minds its anatomical relations. This is especially needful, because a displacement, or some patholog ical condition of some appendage, may be the cause of the derangement which we are called on to re lieve, and it is easy to understand how, if the physi cian be ignorant of the topography of the pelvic or gans, he may fall into error in his investigations into the cause and nature of the diseased condition.
